Welcome to growing.rootz! My name is Carlen. I am the mother of 1 charming little boy who is the light of my world. I am very much an outdoor enthusiast (given the temperature is cool enough), athlete, artist, forever friend, lover of children and God.
On my blog you will find posts about the ups and downs of life, figuring oneself out, navigating the impossible, new motherhood, along with another of my many passions- health and fitness in balance.
One of the things I value most in a person's character is transparency so that is what you will find in many of my daily musings. I value your companionship alongside me on this journey of life, love and wanderlust and welcome your comments and input.

all my life, until the past couple years, the saying that you would most likely hear coming out of my mouth is,
"here i go"
at this point in my life i'm learning to say, "i will STAY right here and live through whatever comes my way- whether i like it or not". so... this is a first-hand account of my journey towards that elusive thing called "health" and "balance". i am, after all these years, finally resolved to getting it from this soil, growing right here where i am, right now. in whatever stage of life i may find myself in, or whatever circumstances.
